Dr. Alisha Rai creates a safe space for real talk about infertility, birth trauma, and unconventional paths to parenthood. As a family physician, Dr. Alisha not only shares her deeply personal journey and pain - but offers her unique perspective as a medical doctor seeking strength and answers. Dr. Alisha Rai captivates audiences with her poise and grace, while offering a beacon of hope to women and families. You can catch Dr. Alisha on the TEDx Illuminate stage in Mississippi, February 20, 2024.

 infertility awareness

When Alisha started her journey to motherhood, she never anticipated the pain and heartache that would follow. Dr. Rai had found herself among a community of women who’ve suffered the emotional and physical pain of fertility treatments and child loss. In revealing her own infertility story, Alisha aims to remove the stigma of shame and guilt that can silence so many.

 disability advocate

Dr. Alisha’s miracle baby, Aiden, was born premature at 31 weeks. During his traumatic delivery, he sustained a life-threatening head injury. It was later discovered he had an extensive stroke and Aiden was eventually diagnosed with hemiplegia cerebral palsy. Alisha and her husband, Liam, embarked on a new journey to advocate for early intervention therapy for others like Aiden by founding Hope For Cerebral Palsy, a non-profit that helps Canadian families with the costs associated with quality early intervention.
